Our story

45 years oflittle footsteps

Peakview opened as a private nursery school on 14 July 1980, the brainchild of Rev Glyn Tudor, pastor of the Mowbray Baptist Church, who included the school in the plans for the new church building. After his death, his wife Yvonne approached Mrs Thelma McMinn, who became the school's first teacher — and within weeks equipment was sourced, children arrived, and Peakview was born.

  4. Today

    A small, happy school

Children still learn through play, in small groups, with teachers who know them by name.

Over the years, traditions have taken root — the Family Supper, our Valedictory Service, the Morning Markets, the school's own birthday celebration, and the beloved annual Concert and Nativity Play. Along the way, supportive parents have helped with equipment, tended the garden, joined outings and rallied for fundraising. That community is Peakview's real inheritance.
